May 12th, 2007 | 1. International Migratory Bird Day Sat. May 12th. 9 AM till 4 PM Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge - St. Rt. 2 along Lake Erie - west of the nuclear power plant and Crane Creek State Park on the north side of Rt. 2. A tent will be set up next to the new National Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center to house displays of insects, and other natural items and events in the region. I will be there with spider society information. FREE! |

2. Ohio Spider Society and Ohio Odonata Society Field Trip Sat. June 9th. 10:00 AM - meet at Barb Natterer's home. Directions to my home will follow soon. Plan: explore/photograph/collect spiders and odes along the headwaters of the Black River at three sites. Pack your lunch and drinks for the day Be sure to let me know if you're planning on attending so we wait for you, or call you if the trip is cancelled. Brown ranch house on S. side of road with detached, matching brown pole barn behind the house. The house sits just east of an open field, then a tree row.
From the north: I-71 south to exit at Rt. I-76/Rt.224. Go west to Lodi. I-76 becomes Rt. 224. Exit Rt. 224 at Friendsville Rd.( traffic light at Cloverleaf High School). Turn right (north) onto Friendsville Rd. until the flashing light at Chippewa Rd. (CR 50). Turn left (west) on Chippewa Rd. Cross Rt. 42. Our home is 1and 1/2 miles west of Rt. 42 on the south side of the road. There is a newer two-story colonial home directly across the street from our home.
From the east: Follow the "From the north" directions from I-76/Rt.224.
From the south: I-71 north to exit at St. Rt. 301 to W. Salem. Exit at Rt. 301, turning left ( north). In W. Salem, turn right at the light ( St. Rt. 42), heading northeast. St. Rt. 42 turns into a 4-lane highway called both Rt.42 and Rt. 224. Stay on the 4-lane highway, getting into the left lane after approx. 1 mile. Turn left (north) onto Vandemark Rd.(CR 31). Turn right (east) onto Chippewa Rd. Our home is approx. 1 mile east of Vandemark on the right ( south) side of Chippewa Rd.
From the west: Follow the " From the south" directions from St. Rt. 301.
