Biography
Eric Parsons ’16 graduated salutatorian from Marietta College, earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. In 2016, he began at Ohio University as a Ph.D. student, studying Organic Chemistry. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and study of small molecule antibiotics that interact with the T-box riboswitch found in many bacteria. Eric began teaching Chemistry at Marietta College in Fall 2020. He has taught Organic Chemistry labs, as well as General Chemistry lectures and labs. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Eric was hired to be the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in 2022.
