Biography

Dr. Sullivan teaches British Literature from the Anglo-Saxon period through the Restoration. Other recent courses he has taught include Senior Capstone Seminar, Shakespeare, Milton, Renaissance Drama, 18th Century English Novel, Myth and Folklore, the Bible as Literature, and Concepts of Apocalypse. His research explores adaptations of Shakespeare and audience receptions of early modern drama. As Associate Dean for Institutional Effectiveness, Dr. Sullivan serves as Marietta College's Accreditation Liaison Officer with the Higher Learning Commission and as the institution's Director of Assessment. Dr. Sullivan was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor in the fall of 2006 and professor in the spring of 2022.
