Dear Marietta College alumni and friends affected by Hurricane Harvey:
Judy and I are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey and the continuous rainfall and flooding you may be experiencing. In the face of such adversity, it offers us confidence in the human spirit to see that destructive forces of nature are being matched by selfless acts of heroism to help those in need. We are inspired by the goodwill being demonstrated in your communities.
We hope that you and your loved ones are safe. Marietta College started the fall semester today, but I am confident over the next few days that different groups will be organizing efforts to provide assistance to those impacted by this tragedy.
