Dear Marietta College Community,
An on-campus memorial service for Dr. Gama Perruci, Dean of the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business, will take place at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, in Fenton Court, which is located in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.
Dean Perruci passed away on July 9, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and their adult children, Caroline Perruci, Rebecca Perruci Payne (Christopher), and Alexander Perruci (Sarah), his mother-in-law, Patricia Siler, a sister, Lidia Ribeiro, and two brothers, Gerson and Eri.
Students, employees, alumni, and community members are invited to join Dean Perruci’s family and friends for this special service. Guests may arrive starting at 2:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join the service online (details below).
Dr. Robert McManus, Marietta College Professor of Leadership Studies and Communication/McDonough Center for Leadership and Business, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. Guest speakers include Cynthia Cherrey, President and CEO of the International Leadership Association; Sadhana Warty Hall, Deputy Director of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences at Dartmouth; Robert Pastoor, Chief of Staff/Vice President for Student Affairs, University of St. Francis (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Mark Miller, Marietta College Professor of Mathematics; Ashley Wollam ’08, member of the McDonough Advisory Board; and Caroline Perruci, Gama and Kathleen's oldest child.
Following the service, Kathleen Perruci and family members will be in attendance at a receiving line to greet guests.
In lieu of flowers, Dean Perruci’s family requests donations be made in memory of him to Marietta College. Donations may be mailed to 215 Fifth St., Marietta, OH 45750 or made online at www.marietta.edu/give with “For Gama” listed in the memo line of the check or as the designation online.
