Dear Marietta College Employees,

In light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, we are taking many proactive steps to address a number of challenges. First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe workplace and encourage and/or adopt practices protecting the health of employees, students, visitors or others. We also want to ensure the continuity of our operations during this pandemic.

While we are asking all employees to cooperate in taking steps to reduce the transmission of communicable diseases — especially COVID-19 — in the workplace. We would also like to ask you to begin to do two additional things:

  1. Please sign and return the attached “COVID-19 Exposure Prevention, Preparedness and Response Plan (WORD).” This is not a waiver, it is an awareness document that indicates your knowledge of the pandemic and the special conditions under which you come to work every day; and
  2. Please fill out your “Personal Assessment” for each day of the week that you are on campus at Marietta College. This charge just asks you to verify that you have taken your temperature and it is below the CDC standard of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and that you do not have any of the COVID-19 symptoms. Your area Vice President can provide these to be downloaded or you can download them from this eamil. This form is to be filled out, signed, and dated for each day that you are on campus. We will be collecting these every week and will be kept in our confidential records.

I know that these are unusual times and that these may seem like unusual requests, but we believe that these will go a long way to assist us in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 for the rest of this summer and into Fall 2020.

Thank you so much for your support.

Bring Forth A Pioneer,

Bill Ruud
President and Professor of Management
