Dear Marietta College Family,
Following a national search for a Vice President for Enrollment Management that resulted in three on-campus interviews, we have decided to continue our search this fall with a new search firm.
Michele Marra, Vice President for Administration and Finance, will chair the search committee, and we will aggressively scour the nation for candidates who are experienced and have a proven track record of enrollment success.
Kelli Barnette ’12 will continue to serve as Interim Vice President of Enrollment Management, and Emily Schuck ’97, MA’07 will remain as Assistant Vice President for Student Enrollment Success.
Kelli has proven to be a strong leader of our Admission team since taking over in March, and I am confident she will help us maintain the positive direction we are enjoying in enrollment. As of today, we have 412 deposits for new students and we haven’t stopped recruiting. Emily and her team in Financial Aid have also played a significant role in our enrollment success, and the strong relationship she has with Kelli and the Admission team will be a major asset as we search for a new leader.
I have asked Michele Marra and Tom Perry, Vice President for Communication and Brand Management, to serve as mentors to Kelli and Emily and assist the Enrollment Management team throughout this transition.
Marietta College is an incredible place and it is important we find a dynamic leader who can enhance what we already do well in recruiting, as well as identify areas that need improving. I know that person is out there.
I will continue to provide updates to campus as they become available.
Sincerely,
Bill Ruud
President and Professor of Management
