Dear Marietta College family:
I am excited to share with you some truly exciting news. For the seventh consecutive year, the Advancement team has exceeded The Marietta Fund goal of $2.35 million with $2,431,823.85 — with a week remaining in the fiscal year.
We were able to eclipse our goal because of the hard work of our colleagues, but also through the continued generosity of Marietta College’s alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends.
I also want to acknowledge a few individuals who spend a great deal of their time at the College working on The Marietta Fund. Please join me and congratulating Kat Gloor, Courtney Wentz ’17 and Erica Starr ’05 and the entire Advancement staff. This is an outstanding accomplishment.
While we are excited to reach our financial goal, we are still asking new donors to consider giving this week as we try to reach a participation goal of 18 percent. We need 126 more to reach this goal. I encourage any of you who have not made a gift to consider doing so this week — no matter the size of your gift.
An anonymous donor has also agreed to match the first $5 of each new alumni gift to provide even more incentive to give today.
The Marietta Fund supports every aspect of the College — from student aid and student life to academics and athletics — and our participation rate is a factor in the U.S. News & World Report rankings, as well as a consideration with our many grant opportunities.
Thank you to everyone who is making a difference in the lives of current and future Marietta College students by donating to The Marietta Fund.
Bill Ruud
