Summer is an excellent opportunity to fulfill a general education requirement or complete an elective. Taking classes during the summer can lighten your load during the academic year. Summer Sessions are designed to offer short courses so you will still have part of your summer study-free!

A variety of online course offerings allow you to take courses from home. Marietta College faculty provide the same quality instruction in a condensed format. Participating in the Acadeum consortium program allows us to supplement our MC offerings with select courses taught by accredited institutions. A student may enroll in a maximum of two courses in any single or overlapping sessions during the summer and a maximum of four (3-4 credit) courses for the entire summer semester. Permission for exceptions to these limitations must be obtained from the Registrar and requires a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade point average and advisor support.

Summer Session 2023 Tuition

$375 per credit hour, with the exception of academic internships, which are billed at a flat rate of $375 regardless of the number of credits (0-3 credits per internship experience)

If you receive the Pell Grant, you may be eligible for an additional disbursement to cover summer costs. Contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@marietta.edu to determine your eligibility.

Payment Terms

All students will be automatically enrolled in a summer payment plan with June 1 and July 1 due dates. Students who register after June 1st must pay in full by July 1. Payment for internships or consortium courses for which a student registers after July 1 is due in full by July 31st.

Transient/Guest Students:

Students enrolled at other institutions of higher education who wish to enroll in summer courses at Marietta College should complete the Transient Student Registration Form. The completed form should be emailed to records@marietta.edu along with an Enrollment Verification, Transient Student Approval, or unofficial transcript from the home institution.

Enrollment in courses with course prerequisites will require an unofficial transcript to verify eligibility to enroll or approval from the course instructor. Please contact us at 740.376.4723 or records@marietta.edu with any questions.

Internships:

Summer 2023 Academic Internships may begin no sooner than May 14 and end no later than August 12.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

To officially drop or withdraw from a course taught by MC faculty, you MUST email the Records Office at records@marietta.edu. If you drop the course after it begins, please copy the instructor on your email. Do not assume you are automatically dropped from the course if you never start it or do not pay for it! Please note that full refunds are given only if the course is dropped by midnight (EST) on the first Monday of the course.

If your course is one of the few exceptions to the session dates above or is an individualized study, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Records Office directly for withdrawal and refund information.

To drop a course taught through our Acadeum partners, you will log into the Acadeum student portal from which you submitted your registration request, https://students.acadeum.com/, and submit your drop request, which will be forwarded to the Records Office for processing. Please note: the MC Withdrawal and Refund Schedule does NOT apply to courses taken through Acadeum. Each teaching institution determines its own deadlines to drop/withdraw. Refunds are NOT prorated. If the course is dropped after the drop date provided in the welcome email/course syllabus, no refund of charges will be awarded.
