Four students from Marietta College’s Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) recently placed fifth in the North American 2023 Petro Bowl.
The strong showing allowed the team to advance to the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in San Antonio, Texas, in Fall 2023.
Marietta’s team consisted of Alec Bollinger ’23 (Sycamore, Ohio), Austin Leporis ’23 (Marshallville, Ohio), Trevor McNeill ’25 (Fombell, Pennsylvania), and Marcus Terry ’23 (McCutchenville, Ohio). The team won four consecutive rounds before losing in the quarterfinals. However, they dominated the loser’s bracket and finished alongside the top teams in North America.
