Biography

Scott Tignor was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and he has performed throughout the United States, and is an enthusiast of electroacoustic tuba music. He has served as principal tubist with Midland/Odessa Symphony and Chorale, Garland Symphony Orchestra, Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, and New Symphony of Arlington.

Dr. Tignor is the Director of Bands at Ravenswood High/Middle Schools in Ravenswood, West Virginia, and is an Adjunct Professor at Marietta College. He has held previous positions at Mineral Wells (Texas) Schools, Ritchie County Schools in Ellenboro, West Virginia, and West Liberty University.

In 2010, he was selected as the National Symphony Teacher Fellow. Dr. Tignor has served as the West Virginia Bandmaster (WVBA) Graded Music Chairman, RESA 5 Arts Team and currently severs as the WVBA Region 2 Representative. His music is published by Cimarron Music Publications and PerMus Publication.
