Biography

Dr. Yaniv Gutman, a native of Israel, started performing in his home country and Europe at the age of 6. Throughout his career, he has won various concerto competitions and performed as a soloist with the Idyllwild Arts Academy Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus State University Philharmonic Orchestra, the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra, the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra, and the West Virginia University Philharmonic Orchestra. Yaniv holds a B.M. in Performance and an Artists’ Diploma from Columbus State University, an M.M. in Violin Performance from the University of Denver, and a D.M.A. in Violin Performance from West Virginia University, where he was also a graduate teaching assistant. As part of WVU’s graduate string quartet, the Montani Quartet, Yaniv served as a quartet teaching fellow at the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp. Yaniv is currently the Adjunct Violin Professor at West Virginia Wesleyan College and Artist-in-Residence of Strings Education for the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Yaniv enjoys a rich freelancing career in various orchestras in the state of West Virginia.
