Our programs scheduled during these five days are designed to help first-year students better acclimate to life on campus and to welcome them into PioNation. The schedule for Welcome Week includes:

Wednesday, Aug. 24
Welcome Week Check-in/Residence Hall Move In
9 a.m.-Noon / Hermann Lobby
This is your one-stop shop for all your move-in needs! Get your key, nametag, Class of 2020 T-shirt, Welcome Week schedule, and more. Offices around campus will be in one location to assist you with any last minute questions or needs you might have. You will visit each office present to double check if there is any last minute paper work that may be missing.

Commuter Student Orientation & Lunch
1-3:15 p.m. / Andrews Hall Great Room
Pick up your Welcome Weeks materials, meet the Coordinator of Commuter Services, MCPD Chief Jim Weaver and other helpful campus staff, and learn about resources and ideas for making the most of your commute to MC! Lunch will be provided. Dress ready for Matriculation.

Matriculation Line Up
3:30 p.m. / Dyson Baudo Recreation Center
Transition Staff will assist in lining you and your classmates up for the formal Matriculation Ceremony. Remember: appropriate dress required.

A Marietta tradition — Matriculation signifies your formal enrollment into Marietta College. You will sign the Marietta Book, receive your class Matriculation poster, and hear from a variety of important campus speakers

You will also hear from Chief Jim Weaver (Marietta College Police Department) and Amanda Mullen (Office of Dean of Students) about your rights and resources as a student.

Group #2: ALICE Training
1-2:50 p.m. / Rickey 150
ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) Training provides preparation and a plan for how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event. Led by our very own Marietta College Police Department.
