What You’ll Learn as a Legal Studies Minor

Our program was designed specifically for students interested in getting into and succeeding in law school. It will expose you to a rigorous program that includes substantive courses that contribute to the eventual study of law. It is compatible with any major that the prospective law student chooses.

In this minor, you will:

  • Have more in-depth knowledge and awareness of legal issues in the U.S. and around the world.
  • Be better prepared to obtain internships and perform better in these internships.
  • Be able to indicate to prospective law schools a course of study that is focused on the law and legal issues.

Other ways it will help:

  • Developing critical and creative reasoning skills that empower you to be an agent of change
  • Analyzing legal issues that arise in diverse fields of study and integrating knowledge of social problems with strategic alternatives for action.
  • Engaging with issues of social justice in the classroom and beyond.
