OUR OFFER TO LOURDES UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Marietta College will offer guaranteed admission to Lourdes University students with a 2.75 or higher cumulative undergraduate GPA and a letter of good standing from their institution.

A transfer or teach-out option is available, depending on your major.

Marietta College also extends eligibility for the Marietta Promise Award to qualified Lourdes students. For Pell-eligible students, this award covers the amount of tuition and mandatory fees that remain after all other federal, state and institutional aid has been applied. What that means for eligible students is that they can attend Marietta College without paying additional tuition out of pocket. Normally available only to First-Time Freshmen, Marietta College will waive the First-Time requirement for Lourdes students. Students must live on campus and meet all other eligibility requirements. The award can be renewed up to eight semesters for students who remain eligible and maintain good academic standing.

The LANDMARK experience

The LANDMARK Experience is one of the things that makes learning at Marietta active, dynamic, and personal. It’s how you will become a better leader. How you will explore what you’re truly interested in and see how it could become your career. And how you will have the chance to use everything you’re learning to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Opportunities to lead and learn are everywhere.

Without leaving campus, you may help run a student-led business, lead or create a student organization, support your peers as a tutor or peer mentor or conduct research alongside a faculty member through an Investigative Studies Fellowship. You might gain experience close to campus, serving as a community health coach, volunteering your time through local service projects, or serving on the board of a local nonprofit organization. Or perhaps you will travel and study abroad, complete an internship in your chosen field, or participate in a professional experience, like being part of the staff at the Boca Raton Bowl. At Marietta, leadership isn’t just taught—it’s practiced.

Academic Success

Marietta's resources support you through every step of their academic journey. The Milone Center encompasses support for career readiness, experiential learning, and academic growth to help you succeed in college and career.

Help with research and library services, writing, oral communication, academic coaching, career development, study abroad and experiential learning are available in one location. Additionally, accessibility services, located in Thomas Hall, and the Tutoring Center in Bartlett, round out the Milone Center.

Faculty, advisors and coaches get to know students personally and work together to help guide you to the appropriate support to help with challenging academic endeavors.

If you are interested in pre-professional health programs, Marietta College provides an ideal framework for the pre-professional preparation needed for entry into a variety of health fields. Graduate programs seek students who not only have a sound education in the basic sciences, but who also have developed communication skills and have foundations in the humanities and social sciences. Pre-health professions students work closely with their academic advisor to  decide on course selection. Read more about the pre-professional tracks at Marietta.

CAMPUS LIFE

College is more than just classes and exams. Marietta College is a residential campus, so the majority of our students live in one of the College's residence halls or Greek-affiliated housing. Every residence hall is located within a 1-2 block walking distance of academic buildings, dining and most athletic facilities.

Campus offers plenty of green space — and students can borrow hammocks when they want to study (or nap) outside during nice afternoons. For a little evening fun, there is a large fire pit area stocked with firewood so students can enjoy bonfires.

PAC (Pioneer Activities Council), a student-led organization, plans activities made for students by students. And traditions like Doo Dah Day and painting The Rock continue each year. There is an active Greek Life community that contributes to a vibrant campus and regular offerings by the theatre department, music, and various other academic department are open to everyone on campus.

Check out a few of the groups and activities students enjoy.
