Assistant or Associate Professor of Leadership Studies
The McDonough Leadership Center at Marietta College is seeking candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Leadership Studies. This is a tenure track position. The McDonough Center was endowed by a gift and established in 1987 as the first comprehensive undergraduate Leadership Studies Program with a Liberal Arts focus in the United States. The Center offers a major, a minor, and a certificate in leadership studies, as well as a teacher leadership certificate. Admission into the program is competitive. The McDonough Center is committed to civic engagement and the development of citizen-leaders through knowledge, action, and personal growth.
Responsibilities will include teaching sections of the core courses in the curriculum including: Foundations of Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Theories and Models of Leadership, and Global Leadership. Opportunities exist for teaching courses specific to the successful candidate's area of research as it relates to Leadership Studies. Professors are expected to show evidence for a commitment to professional growth and development, as well as to service; however, excellent teaching is paramount.
Required qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in a field related to Leadership Studies (such as philosophy, ethics, communication studies, political science, history, or psychology) ABD candidates will be considered;
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the post-secondary level;
- Broad knowledge of qualitative and humanistic approaches to the study of leadership;
- Commitment to a Liberal Arts approach to studying leadership;
- Successful scholarly research agenda in the area of Leadership Studies (or willingness to develop a research agenda in the area of Leadership Studies and specific discipline);
- Evidence of a commitment to student learning and diverse pedagogies such as undergraduate research, service learning, and civic engagement;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Philosophy (or related field);
- Scholarly research in the area of ethics and Leadership Studies

Management or Management/Marketing, Tenure-Track Position
Starting date: August 2012
Education requirement: Ph.D. or D.B.A. in management, marketing, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Teaching experience: strongly preferred. Teaching responsibilities: undergraduate management and marketing courses, with an opportunity to teach courses in an area of interest and expertise.

Tenure-Track Position in Petroleum Engineering
The Department of Petroleum Engineering and Geology at Marietta College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Petroleum Engineering. The position is open to applicants at any level, with rank and salary commensurate with the qualifications of the successful applicant. While a PhD in Petroleum Engineering is preferred, a candidate with an MS degree, industry experience and professional registration would be considered. Administration Positions
Director of Counseling and Psychological Services
Marietta College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Counseling and Psychological Services for the Dr. J. Michael Harding Health and Wellness Center. Under the general direction of the Vice President for Student Life, the Director provides oversight, visionary leadership, and direction for all aspects of the Center, which includes Student Health Services and Counseling & Psychological Services. Primary responsibilities and duties include:
- Provide overall leadership, coordination, and supervision of the Health and Wellness Center clinical services and student development programs.
- Supervision, development, training, and evaluation of counseling and health services staff and of any student staff members responsible for the well-being of the student body.
- Administrative oversight of intake assessment, personal counseling, crisis intervention, group workshops, and campus outreach programming.
- Chair the Campus Threat Assessment Team.
- Serve as an active member of the Campus Safety Committee and Academic Standards Committee.
- Work with area hospitals, mental health agencies and other community-based organizations in an effort to provide resources and services to students.
- Develop meaningful relationships with faculty, staff, and students to bring about understanding and sensitivity to campus-wide issues effecting students with mental health needs.
- Develop innovative programs and methods of delivery of services.
- Provide on-going development of department policies and procedures.
- Oversee the administrative and budgetary functions of the department.
- Work with school members in developing the new Health and Wellness Center to open in the Fall of 2012.
- Provide direct individual therapeutic sessions for students as needed.
Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Cultural competency, a collaborative style, unwavering commitment to education, and a proven active outreach to a college community are essential.
- Demonstrated managerial leadership and clinical experience are required.
- A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD), having graduated from an accredited APA program.
- Must be licensed or license eligible within one year in the State of Ohio.
- At least 3 to 5 years of documented progressive clinical and managerial experience in college counseling field preferably working with traditional-aged students in a health and wellness center environment.
- Broad "generalist " clinical skills and a working knowledge of eating disorders, sexual violence issues, drug and alcohol education, sexual orientation, gender, and diversity and inclusion issues.
- Experience in a collegiate health and wellness center that serves both the physical and mental health needs of students is preferred, as is experience working with international students, specifically students from China.
