Athletic Training, Instructor/Athletic Trainer
Marietta College is seeking a fulltime Instructor/Athletic Trainer beginning August 2008.
Requirements of the position include:
- teaching in a CAATE accredited athletic training education program,
- providing athletic training coverage for varsity athletic teams,
- supervision and instruction of athletic training students during clinical rotations, and
- academic advising of athletic training students.
Qualifications
Masters degree. Candidates must be BOC Certified, and be Ohio licensed prior to accepting the position.
Prior experience in teaching athletic training courses is preferred.

Biology, Assistant Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology
The Department of Biology and Environmental Science at Marietta College invites applications for a full-time, 11 month, tenure-track position beginning August 2008. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field of biology.

Computer Science
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member for the Computer Science program starting Fall 2008. Technology is one of the core values at Marietta College, and the computer science programs are central to that core value.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field is preferred. Candidates with a master's degree and significant teaching and/or industrial experience in the computing sciences will be considered. Excellent teaching and a commitment to on-going professional development are expected for this position.
Of special interest are candidates with expertise in multiple areas of computing such as networking, database design, systems analysis/design/implementation, or graphics. A strong mathematics background is a plus.
Duties/Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach advanced as well as introductory computer science courses for majors and non-majors, participate in curriculum development, and engage students in investigative and collaborative learning projects.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to teach mathematics courses and participate in the First Year Seminar required of all freshmen.

Psychology, Assistant Professor
The Department of Psychology at Marietta College invites applications for a full time position beginning fall of 2008.
This is a one-year position, with the strong possibility of conversion to a tenure track appointment. We seek to hire a gifted teacher to fill this position, which will require teaching statistics and research methods.
The Department offers a popular undergraduate major and a growing M.A. program in general psychology. In addition to undergraduate and graduate courses in Statistics and Research Methods this individual will be expected to teach Introductory Psychology and other courses in their area of specialization.

Assistant/Associate Director of Advancement
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Advancement, the primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Managing a portfolio of prospects for identification, cultivation and solicitation of gifts to Marietta College.
Program activities include initiating and closing campaign gifts of $25,000 and more with donors while working as a collaborative member of the Advancement team to fulfill the College's campaign initiatives and priorities. Willingness to travel nationally for personal appointments to meet annual/campaign objectives is required.

Assistant Director of Campus Police
The Marietta College Campus Police Department is accepting applications for the Assistant Director of Campus Police (Lieutenant).
Reporting directly to the Director of Campus Police, the Assistant Director will have primary responsibility for assisting the Director with all aspects of the college's police operations including, but not limited to, staffing, protective systems, communications, crime prevention and law enforcement activities in order to protect college members and property.

Assistant Men's Basketball/Head Men's Tennis

Marietta College seeks a Director of the Academic Resource Center. Reporting to the Provost, the Director is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and long-range planning for the campus department charged with providing "resources and services to assist all students in the acquisition of information and development of skills to achieve their academic potential.”
The Director:
- provides individualized academic assistance to students, and is responsible for supervising staff members who also provide direct academic support to students.
- acts as liaison to students, faculty, staff, and individuals outside the campus community who contact the ARC for assistance.
- oversees the provision of services such as individual tutoring, accommodations for students with disabilities, and CLEP testing.

Director of Gift Planning
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Advancement, the primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Directing and managing the development of a comprehensive gift planning program in support of Marietta College's mission. Program activities will include initiating and closing gift planning and major gifts with donors while implementing education, marketing, and stewardship initiatives of the program.
- Managing a portfolio of prospects for identification, cultivation and solicitation of gifts to Marietta College. This involves meeting with donors and their professional advisors to discuss giving opportunities involving bequests, gift annuities, and trust arrangements.
- Soliciting and closing planned and major gifts by responding to inquiries and completing all necessary details to ensure proper planned gift closure and administration.
Incumbent will also prepare university proposals and illustrations of life income and estate gift arrangements; understand technical aspects of gift planning and work in partnership with other gift officers and academic staff as needed. Willingness to travel nationwide for individual visits.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or additional education/certification preferred.
2. Five or more years of gift planning fund raising experience, preferably in higher education. Significant transferable major gift or financial planning experience will also be strongly considered.
3. Two or more years of program development or program management experience.
4. Familiarity with estate planning, knowledge of tax law, familiarity with transfer of securities and sale of real property for gift purposes is desired.
5. Prior supervisory experience is beneficial.

- overseeing the daily operation of Andrews Hall and The Gathering place;
- preparing and controlling the budget; recruiting, selecting, training and evaluating student staff for Andrews Hall and The Gathering Place;
- advising the student programming board (CUB);
- advising Greek Council, Interfraternity and Panhellic Council;
- overseeing all Clubs and Organizations including leadership training for members and advisors;
- working with the Treasurer of Student Senate; and
- coordinating social, educational, cultural and recreational programming for the campus.
These responsibilities and functions are carried out with the help of an Assistant Director of Student Activities and Greek Life who reports to the Director.
Qualifications include:
- a Masters Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or related field;
- 3-5 years of experience preferably in student activities and/or Greek Life at the Assistant or Associate level.
Prior experience at a residential, Liberal Arts College strongly preferred.
