Consortium Courses

We are pleased to partner with Acadeum and the Consortium of Independent Colleges (CIC) to offer students more flexibility and opportunity through expanded Summer and Winter Session course options.

Consortium course sharing 

Acadeum’s course‑sharing platform allows Marietta College students to take high‑quality, online, asynchronous courses from institutions that share our mission and academic standards. 

Because consortium courses count as “in residence,” the grades appear directly on the Marietta transcript and are included in GPA calculations—making them a great option for academic recovery if you need to replace a previous attempt at the same course. Consortium credits may also count toward enrollment status for financial‑aid purposes. Acadeum courses are billed at the same tuition rate as Marietta’s Summer and Winter offerings.

Summer and Winter Sessions

Acadeum courses are easy to spot in the schedule—they’ll appear with an “AC” section number and list “Acadeum” as the instructor.

Instead of registering through Self‑Service, students will submit a request through the Acadeum student portal. Be sure to complete all required fields (those marked with an asterisk *) when setting up your profile. 

Registration during these terms is limited to Summer and Winter unless special approval is granted (see "Fall and Spring Requests" below).

In addition to the courses published each term, students may also request other Acadeum offerings by emailing records@marietta.edu with the specific course of interest. The Records Office will explore available options and work with the appropriate academic department to determine the best curricular fit.

Although you can browse approved courses in the Acadeum Portal, please note that “approved” does not guarantee availability for all listed dates.  If you don’t see the course you need, please reach out to the Records Office. Do not submit a portal request for unlisted courses.

Fall and Spring Requests

In certain situations, students may take an Acadeum course during Fall or Spring with approval from the Registrar. Eligibility and whether additional tuition charges apply depend on the reason for the request.

If you and your academic advisor determine that a Fall or Spring Acadeum course is essential for your progress toward graduation, please complete the request form linked below and email the completed document to records@marietta.edu.
