FAQs About Our 2020-2021 Season
Are you producing theatre this year?
Yes! In the Department of Theatre at Marietta College, we strive to provide a high-quality, individualized theatre education for each student in our programs and classes. Producing plays and musicals is a vital part of that education, helping students practice their craft and gain professional skills through practical experience.
In these unprecedented times, we are fulfilling our mission in creative, new ways. We are moving forward with rehearsals and plans to produce musicals and plays throughout the school year while following all relevant health orders as well as the specific guidelines of the Marietta College administration.
Are your shows open to the public this year?
To meet the needs of our students and in response to the COVID-19 guidelines of both the state of Ohio and the Marietta College administration, our live performances are not open to the public at this time. While we are saddened that we will be unable to invite our local patrons into our performance spaces, we understand that our responsibility to protect our students, faculty, staff, and larger Mid-Ohio Valley community must take precedence.
Will you stream shows online?
Yes! We will make our productions available through livestream or video-on-demand whenever possible.
The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project will be livestreamed at 8 pm on February 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th. Access to the livestream can be purchased through www.showtix4u.com/events/MCTheatre for a small fee to cover the cost of the streaming service. Marietta College students and employees will be able to see the show through Panopto on the performance dates and do not need to sign up through showtix4u.com.
To stay flexible, we are announcing each production shortly before it opens. Check back here regularly or follow us on our Facebook page to learn about future productions.
