Marietta College’s Department of English & Modern Languages recently inducted six students into Sigma Tau Delta and one student into Sigma Delta Pi as part of a larger awards program on April 3 in the Prince Forum.

The students inducted into Sigma Tau Delta were Brianna Dietry ’19 (Doylestown, Ohio), Rachel Ewing ’20 (Stockton, California), Sarah Little ’19 (Davisville, West Virginia), Emily Peters ’18 (Elyria, Ohio), Alyssa Prince ’20 (Hilliard, Ohio) and Sam Welch ’18 (Ennis, Montana).

Sigma Tau Delta is an international collegiate honor society for students of English at four-year colleges and universities who are within the top 30 percent of their class and have a 3.5 GPA.

The lone student inducted into Sigma Delta Pi was Melissa Farley ’18 (Parkersburg, West Virginia).

Sigma Delta Pi is the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society and members are invited to join based on superior academic achievement in accordance with the criteria set forth by the Association of College Honor Societies.
