Marietta College will welcome prospective students and their families to campus Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for its Fall Open House, where visitors can explore academic programs, connect with the campus community and get an inside look at life as a Pioneer.
Hosted by the Office of Admission, the event will begin with breakfast and an informational session on campus resources and services. Attendees will hear from President Kathleen Poorman Dougherty and attend an admission presentation covering academics, student life, dining, residence life, scholarships and the admission process.
Prospective students will also have the opportunity to attend two academic sessions of their choice, led by faculty members who will introduce their programs and discuss the learning experiences and potential outcomes students can expect from studying in those fields.
“Through attending, we hope that prospective students are able to get an inside look at all the great things happening at Marietta College, as well as the Landmark Experiences that afford our students stellar opportunities. We want prospective students to feel comfortable and be able to envision themselves here on our campus,” said Brooke Stanley, visit coordinator.
After the morning presentations, attendees will enjoy a complimentary lunch at Gilman Dining Hall, followed by an afternoon tour of the campus. Attendees can also take advantage of additional campus activities that day, including Marietta College's football, women's basketball and men's basketball games. A planetarium showing of “Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon Immersive Dome Experience” will also take place that day, with tickets available for purchase online.
Tom Delahunt, interim vice president of enrollment management, stressed the importance of visiting the campus when choosing a college. “There is no better experience than stepping onto the campus and visualizing yourself at Marietta College,” Delahunt said.
Registration is free and open to prospective students and their families. Guests who have not preregistered may register in person at 9 a.m. at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Parking will be available in the Hermann Fine Arts Center lot. To register or learn more, visit Marietta.edu/event/fall-open-house.
