Engagement & Success

Pathways to Success
Success at Marietta is Personal
It grows from close faculty mentorship, meaningful relationships, and a community that challenges students to think bigger.
Here, students do more than prepare for what comes after college. They discover who they are, what they can contribute, and how their talents can make a difference.
Your belief in our students helps every Pioneer find belonging, gain confidence, and prepare for a purposeful life beyond Marietta.

"I learned to find problems based off of things I learned in the engineering program. From designing new parts and structural welds, to solving issues on wheels assemblies, This was a summer I will never forget as I continue my journey in this field."
—Bo Conrad '26, ride engineer intern at Kennywood Amusement Park, Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Landmark Experience
Learning that extends beyond the classroom and expands what's possible.
The Landmark Experience is Marietta’s distinctive approach to experiential learning. Through internships, study abroad, faculty-mentored research, creative work, leadership, and service, students connect knowledge to action and develop the confidence to navigate what comes next.
These experiences do more than strengthen a résumé. They deepen curiosity, widen perspective, reveal purpose, and prepare students to lead with skill, compassion, and conviction.

The opportunity ahead is clear: make transformative Landmark Experiences accessible to every Pioneer.

Nearly 500 Internships
Over five years, Marietta students completed nearly 500 internships, with broad participation across every academic division. Each experience helps student test ideas, develop professional judgment, build meaningful relationships, and envision a future a future filled with possibility.

“Internships and career development deepen a student’s professional readiness by pairing real-world experience with the awareness, judgment, and adaptability leaders look for in high-potential talent who are prepared to contribute from day one.”
— Mike Salvino ’87
former Chairman, President, and CEO of DXC Technology

Finding Connection at Marietta
Transformative experiences begin with a sense of belonging.
Investments in first-year experiences, peer mentorship, learning communities, campus traditions, and individualized support help students build strong connections from the moment they arrive. Continued support throughout their Marietta journey helps every Pioneer persist, graduate, and flourish.
The Milone Center for Academic and Career Success is the campus home for much of this work—a dynamic space where students can find academic support, explore career possibilities, connect with experiential opportunities, and shape their futures.
Now, the opportunity is to expand the personalized support, guidance, and connections that help students turn potential into purpose.
Campaign support will help students discover their next step through personalized advising, career exploration, professional development, and connections that open doors.
