If you're passionate about music, theatre, musical theatre, or dance, Marietta College is the place where your talent can shine.
For students pursuing theatre or music at Marietta College, an audition is an important step in the admission process for theatre and music degree programs and is also used to determine eligibility for Fine Arts talent scholarships.
Whether you plan to major in theatre, musical theatre, or music, or you wish to be considered for a Fine Arts scholarship, the audition process allows our faculty to learn more about your talents, potential, and artistic goals.
Your creativity and talent could help fund your Marietta experience.
Fine Arts scholarships are based on a student's performance in a College-sponsored audition and range from $1,000 to $5,000.* (Priority is given to students who complete their application and audition or interview by January 23rd.)

Theater Auditions
- The B.F.A. programs and the Fine Arts Scholarship all use the same theatre application process. This means you can apply both to a program and for a scholarship through only one application.
- Audition or materials submission on campus during an official audition/interview day OR online files submission of equivalent work
- Résumé of theatre experience
- Interview by department faculty in the same manner (on campus or online) as audition or materials submission
Review Audition Requirements
Music Auditions
- All prospective music majors are required to audition for admission to the music degree programs offered by Marietta College. The audition will serve as your audition for a music scholarship as well.
- Auditions can be scheduled on an official audition/interview day or by contacting Professor Merewyn Weinkauf at mb001@marietta.edu.
Non-major music scholarship auditions may be submitted electronically by sending a YouTube link of the video audition to Professor Merewyn Weinkauf at mb001@marietta.edu.
