Biography

Dr. Barnes is a lifespan developmental psychologist who primarily works with adults. Her research interests have focused on gender, interpersonal relationships, perceptions of self and others, and educational outcomes. Dr. Barnes is especially interested in the impact of contextual factors, including place of residence and cultural influences connected to Appalachia.
