Marietta College has once again been recognized among “America’s Top Colleges,” in an annual report published by Forbes.com.

Of the approximately 4,300 degree-granting postsecondary institutions in the United States, Forbes ranks 650 undergraduate institutions based on the quality of the education they provide and how much their students achieve.

Marietta ranks 536th overall, while also ranking 128th among all Midwest colleges and 21st in Ohio. The College is ranked as the 97th in the Best Small Colleges category, 174th in the Best Liberal Arts Universities and the 342nd in the Best Private Colleges category.

Now in its 12th year, Forbes Top Colleges ranking has always placed its focus solely on the direct benefits a college or university provides students. To calculate this year’s list, Forbes used the following metrics: post-graduate success (35 percent), debt (20 percent), student experience (20 percent), graduation rate (12.5 percent) and academic success (12.5 percent).
