This recognition serves as a testament to Dr. Tate's exemplary contributions to the field of athletic training and her unwavering commitment to student development.

“It is an honor to be chosen for the award,” Tate said. “There are a lot of mentors and leaders who have received this award, and it is humbling to join them.”

Dr. Tate’s journey at Marietta College began in 2009 when she joined the institution. Over the years, she has proven herself to be an exceptional educator and leader in the field of athletic training. She obtained her Master of Education degree from the University of West Florida in the same year, laying the foundation for her successful career in academia and athletics.

As a dual-appointed employee at Marietta College, Dr. Tate adeptly splits her time between classroom instruction and hands-on work with athletes. Her dedication to both roles has made her an invaluable asset to the institution and the broader athletic training community.

In her capacity as a Professor, Dr. Tate consistently teaches two to three classes per semester.

Furthermore, Dr. Tate is an active member of various professional organizations, including the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, and National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Within the Ohio Athletic Trainers Association, she serves as the state meeting planner, where she collaborates with members and stakeholders to develop and execute the annual meeting, fostering professional growth and networking opportunities for athletic trainers across the state.

Dr. Tate's dedication to research and advancing the field of athletic training is evident through her role as a Peer Reviewer for the Health, Interprofessional Practice & Education Journal and the Journal of Interprofessional Care & Clinical Practice in Athletic Training.
