Fine Arts Visit Day

Marietta College will welcome prospective students and their families to campus for Fine Arts Visit Day on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Designated for students interested in pursuing or exploring the arts, the event highlights the many creative pathways available at Marietta, including visual art, graphic design, theatre and music. The event is open to all high school students.

From hands-on learning to engaging performances, the College’s Fine Arts Visit day offers a firsthand look at how Pioneers grow as artists, thinkers and collaborators. Throughout the day, attendees will experience the many ways Marietta fosters artistic development.

The day will begin with check-in at the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business, followed by a welcome from Provost Suzanne Walker and the Office of Admission. Visitors will enjoy a light breakfast, trivia and a brief academic overview before moving into three experiential sessions. These sessions will include mini performances in the Friederich Theater featuring current students, guided tours of the Art Gallery and Makerspace, as well as interactive arts experiences designed to immerse attendees in Marietta’s creative disciplines.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for students who might consider majoring in art, graphic design, theatre or music – or for those who simply want to stay actively engaged in the arts while pursuing another major,” said Brooke Stanley, visit coordinator. “We encourage students of all interests to explore how the fine arts might enrich their campus experience.”

The afternoon includes a resource fair in the Hermann Fine Arts Center, where attendees can connect with campus organizations and offices. The day will conclude with a full campus tour, offering a broader look at student life and learning beyond the fine arts experience.

Instructor of dance Aurora Held-Dodd, who will help lead interactive fine arts experiences throughout the day, said, “Fine Arts Visit Day is important because it’s an opportunity for prospective students and their guests to experience a taste of what it’s like to be a student involved in the arts at Marietta College. When they attend, students can begin to see themselves here, working alongside us to create theatre, music and art that benefits our entire community. They start to see the possibilities and get excited about our programs. It’s a great day every year.”

Fine Arts Visit Day is free to attend. While most visitors are current high school juniors and seniors, all high school students are welcome. Visitors may also choose to stay on campus for the opening night performance of “Ride the Cyclone: The Musical” at 8 p.m., in the Friederich Theater in the Hermann Fine Arts Center. Tickets can be reserved during registration.
