Marietta College has been named to Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society’s 2026 Transfer Honor Roll, recognizing the College among 275 four-year colleges and universities nationwide for excellence in creating pathways that support community college transfer students as they continue their education and work toward bachelor’s degrees.
The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes institutions that demonstrate a strong commitment to transfer student success, from the admission process through graduation. Institutions are evaluated on factors including transfer student success outcomes, credit mobility and degree applicability, financial support, recruitment and admissions practices, campus engagement and support.
“Transfer students bring valuable experiences, perspectives and accomplishments with them as they continue their education, and we want them to feel confident about the path ahead,” said Heidi Terry, vice president for enrollment management. “At Marietta, we work to make that path as clear and supportive as possible. That starts with helping students understand how their credits may transfer before they apply and connecting them with the resources and support they need to thrive as they become part of our community. We are proud to be recognized by Phi Theta Kappa for our commitment to helping transfer students continue their education and pursue their goals.”
Marietta College’s recognition is based on data provided through the National Student Clearinghouse as well as the College’s institutional Transfer Profile in PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online platform connecting community college students with transfer opportunities. The profile provides prospective transfer students with information about admissions practices, transfer scholarships, cost of attendance, campus life and recruitment opportunities.
This year, 1,117 colleges and universities completed PTK’s institutional profile and received a Transfer Friendliness Rating. The top-performing institutions earned a place on the Transfer Honor Roll based on the comprehensive evaluation.
“Successful transfer happens when institutions intentionally design policies, practices and campus cultures that help students thrive after they arrive,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of PTK. “These colleges have demonstrated that transfer student success is not accidental. It is a strategic priority.”
At Marietta College, transfer students can begin planning their next step before they apply. Prospective students can meet with an admissions counselor to discuss how their credits may transfer or request an unofficial transfer evaluation, with results provided within three to five business days. Students may apply year-round and are encouraged to apply early for consideration for academic scholarships. Marietta also offers the WSCO2MC transfer program in partnership with Washington State College of Ohio, providing a pathway for students to begin their college experience at Washington State and complete a four-year degree at Marietta.
