Marietta College will welcome prospective Education majors and their families to campus for Education Visit Day on Friday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Hosted by the Office of Admission, the event will give high school students interested in teaching an opportunity to explore the College’s Education program, connect with faculty and current students, and learn about pathways into the teaching profession.
Throughout the day, students will have opportunities to participate in hands-on teaching activities, observe a student teacher and hear from current Education majors during a student panel. Attendees will also meet faculty members, explore campus resources during a student activities and resource fair, and tour campus. Parents and guardians can attend presentations on financial aid and career services, as well as a panel featuring educators. All attendees will receive a complimentary lunch in Gilman Dining Hall.
“We hope students can envision themselves at Marietta College and learn more about the Education program,” said Brooke Stanley, visit coordinator in the Office of Admission. “We hope they feel a connection with our campus and consider joining us in the future as Education majors."
Kayla Bradley, director of clinical partnerships, helped coordinate the event alongside the Office of Admission. Bradley said the event gives prospective students and their families a better understanding of the Education department’s mission and vision.
