The Marietta College Alumni Association will recognize Hall of Honor, Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni, Honorary Alumni, and Liz Tribett MCAA award recipients at the 2021 MCAAA Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 23rd on the Marietta College campus. A breakfast reception will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Awards Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on The Christy Mall.

The most prestigious award given by the Alumni Association, the Hall of Honor Award recognizes individuals who exemplify extraordinary characteristics that reflect the very best of the Marietta experience by accomplishments in their profession, service to the College, service to their community and/or contribution to humanity. This year’s recipients are T. Grant Callery ’68, John Beale ’71, Roger Markfield ‘63, and Dale Wartluft ’63.

  • T. Grant Callery ’68 is a retired financial services executive and executive vice president and general counsel for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) from Bethesda, Maryland.
  • John Beale ’71 is a diplomat and former United States Ambassador, investment officer for the World Bank, and commercial banker for Chase Manhattan Bank and Bank of America from Chevy Chase, Maryland.
  • Roger Markfield ’63 served as the creative director and a visionary in the field of retail apparel, with extensive experience across national brands, from Sunny Isle, Florida.
  • Dale Wartluft ’63 is an innovator and leader in management consulting and a former executive with Ernst & Young from Dunwoody, Georgia.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has achieved significant accomplishments, made outstanding contributions in his or her field, or has distinguished himself or herself through service to the community, state, or nation. The 2020 recipient is Linda J. Showalter ’79 (Marietta, Ohio) and the 2021 recipients are Malcolm Doldron ’99 (Brookline, Massachusetts) and Kathleen Murphy ’82 (Cohasset, Massachusetts).

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has graduated 15 years ago or less, who has made significant accomplishments in business or professional life and/or who has rendered outstanding service to the College or the MCAA. The 2020 recipient is Eric G. Dowler ’07 (Marietta, Ohio) and the 2021 recipients are C. Taylor Myers ’15 (Beallsville, Ohio) and Patrick Tegge ’14 (Glouster, Ohio).

Each year, the Honorary Alumni Award is presented to an individual who is not an alumnus/alumna, but has given specific and meritorious service on behalf of the quality and advancement of the College and the MCAA. The 2020 recipients are Dr. Gloria M. Stewart (East Wake, New Hampshire) and George W. Fenton (Williamstown, West Virginia), and the 2021 recipient is Dr. Roger Pitasky (Marietta, Ohio).

The Liz Tribett MCAA Award is given to individuals considered deserving of recognition for service to Marietta College. The 2020 recipient is Gregory L. Black ’81 (Marietta, Ohio) and the 2021 award is shared by Ken and Betty Stollar (Marietta, Ohio).
