Who verifies my Leadership Lab hours?

Your verifier is the person who was in charge during your Leadership Lab hours volunteer experience. In most cases, this is someone who works for the organization you volunteered with.

  • If your hours were logged through Marietta College Athletics, find out your
    verifier through Mirya Hanes (mlh007@marietta.edu, (740) 376-4665)
  • If your hours were logged through a campus or student organization, find out
your verifier through the OVice of Community Living at ocl@marietta.edu
When Engage Marietta asks me to enter my verifier, I don’t see his/her name in the drop-down list. How do I enter the correct person’s name and email address?

Find the button that says “change to write-in mode” and enter the correct verifier’s information. This person will receive a notification from Engage Marietta to verify your Leadership Lab hours.

If you take this action, it is STRONGLY recommended that you notify your verifier to expect an email requesting hours verification!

I have un-verified Leadership Lab hours in Engage Marietta. How do I get them verified?

The organization you volunteered with verifies the hours you logged. Contact your verifier or the organization directly and ask them to approve your hours.

Generally, the nonprofit org is prompted to verify hours through an email notification from Engage Marietta, but if you see un-verified hours, contact them directly.

NOTE: the Leadership Lab hours verification process is the same no matter how or why you’ve accomplished your hours – LEAD 101, LEAD 103, Make-A-DiVerence Day, and/or Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, or hours accomplished independently are verified the same way – through the organization you volunteered with.

  • If your hours were logged through Marietta College Athletics, contact Mirya Hanes (mlh007@marietta.edu, (740) 376-4665)
  • If your hours were logged through a campus or student organization contact the OVice of Community Living at ocl@marietta.edu
I’m graduating. How do I find out how many Leadership Lab hours I’ve logged?

• Your Engage Marietta account will reflect the number of Leadership Lab hours you have logged.
IMPORTANT: Only verified hours are applied to the Leadership Lab hours requirement for your minor or certificate.

IMPORTANT: Only verified hours are applied to the Leadership Lab hours requirement for your minor or certificate.

How does the Records Office count my verified Leadership Lab hours toward my graduation?

• The Records Office looks at your Leadership Lab hours TWO times for verification:

  • FIRST: when they do your preliminary review (before your last semester at Marietta College).
  • SECOND: during your oVicial audit, which occurs after you register for your last semester.
  • The requirement is marked “complete” when they find that all required hours have been logged and verified.
How do I provide feedback to the organization I volunteered with?

Nonprofit organizations rely on good feedback from volunteers to help achieve their mission. You play a vital role in helping them help the community! Tell them what was great about your experience and how they can improve volunteer experiences!
