Tailored for high school students ages 15 to 17.
Summer is a time to explore. June and July offer six opportunities at Marietta College's Exploration Camps.
Explore areas of interest or potential careers during one-week camps on the Marietta College campus:
- creative writing
- drama and music
- public service leadership
- history and political science
- STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)
- entrepreneurship & career development bootcamp
Camps are conducted by Marietta College faculty. Each Summer Exploration Camp will feature a full week of hands-on activities, learning, and a finale to wrap-up what was learned during the week.
- DAYS: Monday through Friday (see dates below)
- TIME: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- MEALS INCLUDED: breakfast, lunch and a snack
Cost is $500 per camp. FULL SCHOLARSHIPS are available for elligible Washington County applicants, through Job and Family Services.

JUNE 9-13: Creative Writing Camp
The camp will be led by accomplished authors and poets from Marietta College’s English faculty. These talented professors will guide you through the process of creating and discovering your voice in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction writing. The week will conclude with a special Pizza, Poetry, and Prose event, where you’ll share your creative work with parents, guardians, and fellow campers.

JUNE 16-20: Drama and Music Camp
MC Drama/Music Camp offers workshops exploring music and theatre. Each morning, you’ll choose focused instruction in musical theatre, instrumental music, or technical theatre. Taught by Marietta College’s Music and Theatre faculty, the camp culminates in a showcase performance at week’s end.

JUNE 23-27: Public Service Leadership Camp
At the Public Service Leadership Camp, you’ll develop law enforcement and leadership skills while building relationships with local officers. Learn investigation, risk assessment, community engagement, and crime scene management. The week concludes with you processing mock crime scenes for friends and family.

JULY 14-18: History & Political Science Camp
Explore the Constitutional Convention of 1787 by creating your own “new” constitution. Debate, strategize, and vote to ratify it by week’s end. Field trips to Campus Martius, the Castle, and Blennerhassett Island bring this historical period to life and highlight Marietta’s key role in U.S. history.

July 21–25: Entrepreneurship & Career Development Bootcamp
Discover your potential by developing career and entrepreneurial skills, including ideation, prototyping, marketing, and sales. The week concludes with a Pitch Competition, where you’ll present your product or service to parents/guardians and judges. The top three teams will win awards for their work.

July 28-August 1: STEM Camp
Focus on environmental sustainability through hands-on activities in physics, chemistry, biology, and geology. Analyze water and soil, explore habitats, and study plant diversity. Build, use, and take home a spectrograph and solar robot as you discover the world of environmental science.
