Marietta College Women’s Rowing celebrates 50 years of program history!
Marietta College Women’s Rowing began as a club team in 1974, coached by Pete Gross ’75 and Andy Theodos ’76. In December of 1976, Dr. James Murtha, dean of the college, declared Women’s Rowing a Varsity sport. In January 1977, Norm Lindamood became the first varsity coach of team. Since then, the program has won several Dad Vail Championships, MARC Championships, and made NCAA appearances. 50 years since its inception, the Marietta College Women’s Rowing Team carries on strong.
Please join us on Saturday, March 21st at the Lindamood-VanVoorhis Boathouse for an evening to celebrate the legacy of women’s rowing at Marietta College.
