Pioneers’ parents and families are welcomed to campus for Family Weekend 2025, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13.
The annual tradition provides families with the opportunity to experience life as Pioneers—sharing in the spirit of campus, enjoying time with their students, and connecting with the broader Marietta community. This year’s schedule offers a range of activities for everyone, from athletic events and conversations with college leadership to live entertainment and showcases.
Festivities begin on Friday with the signature kickoff event, Marketplace on the Mall, a farmers’ market-style event where Marietta students, faculty, and staff, along with local entrepreneurs and creatives, will showcase their small businesses, start-ups, passion products, and more. Families can also enjoy food trucks and novelties before coming together in The Gathering Place for a night of laughter and illusions with magician and comedian Tyler Korso.
Saturday offers even more opportunities to connect and celebrate, starting with coffee and conversation with President Kathleen Dougherty and the Alumni and Advancement Office, a career services workshop, the fan-favorite Family Weekend bingo, and opportunities to experience a planetarium show or Gallery 310 art exhibition. Families are also encouraged to cheer on the Pioneer men’s and women’s soccer teams before joining the pre-game tailgate ahead of the first home football game of the season.
“Parent and Family Weekend at Marietta College allows for students to reconnect with families after about a month on campus through a variety of events where they can interact with faculty, staff and administrators,” said Robbie Chulick,Associate Dean of Students & Director of Community Living and Campus Involvement. “I hope parents and families create special memories with their students on campus and in the local Marietta community that weekend.”
For more than 50 years, Family Weekend has welcomed parents, siblings, and loved ones to experience life as Pioneers. From special events to simple moments, it’s a tradition rooted in fun, connection, and community on campus. We look forward to creating new memories together this September.
