Marietta College will host its annual Landmark Experience Day on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The campus-wide event highlights the College’s strong commitment to experiential education and hands-on learning opportunities that allow students to lead, explore, create and connect in preparation for successful futures.

Launched in 2022 as Experiential Education Day and now called Landmark Experience Day, the event brings together students, faculty, staff and community members for a day dedicated to “learning by doing.” Throughout the day, regular classes are suspended in favor of presentations, demonstrations and interactive sessions that showcase the variety of experiences Pioneers gain through research, internships, study abroad, fieldwork, leadership and more.

In addition to hearing from five recent alumni at the opening session from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center (DBRC), attendees can explore 24 concurrent sessions from 9:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. showcasing student work across disciplines. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., more than 150 students will present posters and digital displays in the DBRC. The Opportunity Connect networking fair will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the DBRC, inviting students to meet with nearly 40 employers and representatives from graduate and study abroad programs to discuss internships, job openings, international opportunities and advanced academic study. Evening programs include a poetry reading by the Poets and Playwrights fellowship recipients from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Friederich Theatre and Get Linked, a virtual LinkedIn workshop with alumnus Tyler Baltzell ’15 from 8 to 9 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

“I believe the most rewarding knowledge is the kind you build yourself,” said Dr. Jacqueline Khorassani, senior director of entrepreneurship and career development. “Knowledge isn’t merely transmitted; it’s constructed. Experiential education empowers students to build it and own it.”

The event highlights Marietta College's focus on connecting theory with practice while emphasizing the outcomes of experiential education, from professional skills development to meaningful community engagement. Landmark Experience Day invites students, faculty, staff and community members to come celebrate and participate in the real-world learning that shapes a Marietta College education. The event underscores the College’s dedication to preparing students for success through applied learning and collaboration.
