The Pioneers Team Store at Marietta College is joining the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Gnome on the Roam holiday initiative. Gnome on the Roam is a fun community-wide shopping event that encourages residents to support local businesses during the holiday season.
Starting the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 2, through Thursday, Dec. 4, The Pioneers Team Store will serve as a “Gnome Destination.” Shoppers who make a purchase during this time will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Marietta Bucks card, redeemable at participating local businesses throughout the community.
The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce will visit the team store on Thursday for a Facebook Live event to announce the prize winner and collect all entries to be included in the Gnome on the Roam grand prize basket drawing.
“We’re excited to be part of the Gnome on the Roam initiative and to welcome the community into The Pioneers Team Store,” said Becki Brown, the store’s supervisor. “It’s always surprising to me when a community member comes into the store and asks if they’re allowed in. This initiative is a great way to show that everyone is welcome while sharing Marietta College spirit and holiday cheer with the community.”
The Pioneers Team Store offers a variety of Marietta College apparel, gifts and accessories, as well as school supplies. The store is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is located on the upper level of the Gilman Student Center.
