Angie Stocklin, co-founder and former Chief Operating Officer for One Click Internet Ventures, will join Marietta College as the second Visiting Entrepreneur-in-Residence during the spring semester.

Stocklin will begin working with students on Wednesday, February 26th and Thursday, February 27th. She will also return in April for three days of speaking to classes and working one-on-one with students.

“I was drawn to the opportunity to be the visiting Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Marietta College because I strongly believe in a liberal arts education,” Stocklin said. “During my liberal arts education, I learned how to think, how to learn, and how to solve problems, and these skills assisted me in becoming a successful entrepreneur without a formal business degree.”

Dr. Jacqueline Khorassani, Director of Entrepreneurship at Marietta College, said they sought out Stocklin for this position because of her diverse background.

“Angie's formal education is in psychology, and she worked as a nationally certified school psychologist for a while before she put her entrepreneurial ideas into action.  And, she did it very successfully,” Khorassani said. “Angie, who has recently sold her business, currently spends her time working with young aspiring entrepreneurs as their mentor. She certainly is a source of inspiration for all students, especially female students.”

While on campus, Stocklin will appear as a guest lecturer in 18 classes, will participate in PioBiz workshop and assist students with their projects on a one-on-one basis.

“Faculty will also have a chance to interact with Angie on various occasions,” Khorassani said.

Stocklin said she is passionate about empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Working directly with entrepreneurial-minded college students is an exciting opportunity,” she said. “The United States desperately needs to educate and empower a more diverse set of entrepreneurs. I believe entrepreneurship programs like the one at Marietta College help to tackle this issue by exposing students to opportunities and then providing them a safe and supportive community to learn, test ideas, and dream of their future.”

Stocklin earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Evansville in 2000 and an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology from Indiana State University in 2005. She is currently serving as a Real Business Experience Mentor at Butler University.

One Click is an eCommerce eyewear company that she helped grow into a $20 million a year in revenue venture. The company was sold to FGX International in 2018. Stocklin serves on the board for The Harlaxton Society, The Startup Ladies and Plan Forward.
