Concert Choir - Music 361

Marietta College Concert Choir members sing at a concert in a nearby church

Concert Choir is a select mixed ensemble requiring an audition and is open to all majors. Singers will explore the artistic pathways and qualities that aid in the pursuit of extraordinary musicianship and prepare choral literature at a college level. The ensemble is designed to acquaint the student with as much literature as possible and also to instill the discipline necessary to achieve high-performance standards. Individually and collectively, students will gain a sensitivity to style and an awareness of all aspects of musical expression, as well as gain an appreciation of the unique relationships between composer, conductor, and performer. Concert Choir meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. and can be used toward partial fulfillment of your co-curricular general education requirement. Auditions are the first two days of the fall semester, and a two-semester commitment is required, in addition to a mandatory choir retreat, which typically takes place the second Saturday of the semester.
