Marietta College is celebrating Homecoming Week 2026 and preparing to crown this year’s royalty, with 11 Pioneers running for the titles of Homecoming King and Queen. Each candidate reflects the many ways in which Pioneers contribute to the College, representing student organizations, athletic teams and academic programs across campus.
This year’s theme, “Pioneer Eras,” celebrates the traditions, milestones and memories that have shaped generations of Pioneers. From lifelong friendships to unforgettable moments on campus, the theme recognizes the experiences that make each era distinct while honoring the shared spirit of the Long Blue Line.
Online voting is now open for students. Voting runs from 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, through noon Friday, Oct. 16. To cast your vote, visit the 2026 Homecoming Candidate Voting form. The 2026 Homecoming Court features nine queen nominees and two king nominees, each bringing enthusiasm, leadership and commitment to the Marietta community.
Beyond the festivities, this year's Homecoming candidates are embracing a spirit of giving by collecting items for the Blessing Bag Drive, including non-perishable foods, diapers, toiletries, and more, to support families in need. Through the initiative, candidates are demonstrating their commitment to service and extending their impact beyond campus.
Homecoming Week 2026 features a lineup of campus events hosted by the Pioneer Activities Council. Students enjoyed Munchies on the Mall on Monday, where candidates showcased their culinary skills, followed by Trivia in The Great Room in Andrews Hall on Tuesday. On Wednesday, candidates answered questions about their organizations while eating wings during the Hot Ones Interviews in The Gathering Place. Thursday’s schedule includes Bags and BBQ: Alumni Cornhole Tournament on the Legacy Library Lawn, where candidates can put their cornhole skills to the test while connecting with alumni and enjoying food trucks. More History to Make: The State of the College Address takes place on Friday at Fenton Court, where students will hear President Kathleen Poorman Dougherty deliver a significant announcement regarding the future of the College.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the winners will be crowned during halftime of the Pioneers’ football game against Baldwin Wallace University at Don Drumm Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the Ohio Athletic Conference matchup. The Pioneers are currently 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
