Lunch & Learn: Careers with IRS Criminal Investigation

Join Marietta College alumnus Brad Nickerson '05, Supervisory Special Agent with IRS Criminal
Investigation (IRS-CI), and members of his team for an engaging Lunch & Learn exploring careers at the
intersection of accounting, analytics, technology, and federal law enforcement.
IRS Criminal Investigation is the law enforcement division of the Internal Revenue Service responsible for
investigating financial crimes, including tax fraud, money laundering, cyber-enabled financial crimes,
public corruption, and other complex financial investigations.
Representatives from multiple career paths within IRS-CI will discuss their professional backgrounds,
career opportunities, and the skills needed to succeed in federal service. Planned participants include a
Supervisory Special Agent, an analyst with an accounting background, and a computer forensic
specialist. Students will learn how accounting, data analysis, technology, and investigative techniques
work together to combat financial crime.
The presentation will also discuss internships, entry-level opportunities, and educational pathways into
careers with IRS Criminal Investigation and the broader federal government.
Lunch will be provided. This event qualifies as a Tier 1 Professional Networking Event for Marietta
College's Career Readiness Program.
This event is open to all Marietta College students. While it may be especially valuable for students
majoring or minoring in Accounting and other Business & Economics programs, as well as students in
Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, and related fields, any student interested in learning
more about careers in federal law enforcement, investigations, technology, analytics, or public service
