Join the Center for Appalachian Innovation for a mini-symposium

Thursday, May 21, 2026
9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Marietta College

The Center for Appalachian Innovation at Marietta College invites you to a mini symposium on Opportunity Zones in Appalachian Ohio. This event allows regional leaders from economic development, government, and industry to engage in a discussion on the future of Opportunity Zone investment across the region.

The program will feature two engaging presentations: one from Marietta College, which has conducted original analysis on Opportunity Zone selection and regional impact, and one from Novogradac, providing a perspective on Opportunity Zone policy, investment trends, and implementation strategies.

As federal guidance evolves and new Opportunity Zone designations are considered, Appalachian Ohio is uniquely positioned to align local priorities with strategic investment and support economic growth. This mini symposium is designed to support that effort by bringing together those who are directly shaping economic development outcomes across the region.

Join the discussion centered on identifying high-impact opportunities, strengthening regional coordination, and ensuring that future investment leads to sustainable economic growth within Appalachian Ohio communities.
