Marietta College was recognized among the best in three different regional categories, including No. 13 in Best Value School, which was published by the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings.

Marietta ranked 18th in the Best Midwest Regional Colleges in the 2024 rankings that were released today. The College also ranks No. 48 for Top Performers on Social Mobility in the Midwest Region.

In the latest assessment, U.S. News and World Report changed 17 of the 19 indicators used to calculate its rankings of institutions — removing the following indicators: alumni giving, faculty with terminal degrees, class size, and high school standing. In their place, U.S. News has increased weighting to a school’s success in graduating students from different backgrounds.

Overall, there were 74 colleges included in the Midwest rankings. When compared to other regional rankings, Marietta’s overall score would put it No. 4 in the North and West, and No. 14 in the South.

If you combined all the regions together, which ranks 265 colleges and universities, Marietta would be tied for 37th overall.

Over the past few weeks, Marietta was ranked by Wall Street Journal/College Pulse (No. 3 in Ohio for Salary Impact). And Washington Monthly (No. 19 nationally for Contribution to the Public Good).

Marietta’s graduates are also succeeding. Data collected by MC in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers standards shows that 90% percent of the combined graduates from 2020-2022 were employed or furthering their education within six months of graduating.
