“Marietta College has given me the tools I need to succeed in my new position. I never dreamed that I would be a teacher after I graduated college, but my professors did a good job of mentoring me in how to teach others. Without them, I would not be able to excel in the position I find myself.”

-Erin Miller ’20, Athletic Trainer at River High School

Erin Miller ’20 earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and was accepted at The Ohio State University to work toward a Master of Arts degree in Education Studies. She works as an Athletic Trainer for River High School in Hannibal, Ohio, covering all sports as well as teaching Athletic Training courses at the school. “Marietta College also allowed me the opportunity to fine-tune my time management and multitasking skills. As an Athletic Training major and a varsity softball player, it was sink or swim when it came to those. I was able to swim thanks to the resources offered to me at Marietta College.”

Tara Clinton a former student at Marietta College laughs in her room

“I truly felt the impact of a liberal arts education every day as I would run up and down the mall from Hermann to Thomas, and now I appreciate the skills I developed from my major and minor and know I can handle any event that ends up on my team's schedule.”

-Tara Clinton ’18, Publishing and Intelligence Specialist

Only a few months after graduating from Marietta College with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Theatre, Tara began a job at POLITICO that required skills from her background in both departments. The first role she held utilized the production experience she gained during her time at Marietta, which she is extremely thankful for. She helped plan and produce events for POLITICO, which mirrored her time working on productions in the Theatre department. Her advanced knowledge of backstage equipment aided her in successfully completing each event, and her experience stage managing was put to use almost every day. She cannot thank Marietta enough for the solid Theatre background that helped her thrive in her first position at POLITICO and led to the one she currently has. This new position involves data analysis similar to the capstone she completed for her Political Science major, putting her major to use. She says that both the Theatre and Political Science departments pushed her to succeed and keep working hard despite whatever obstacles may stand in her way. She believes that during her years at Marietta, both of her academic passions became intertwined, with one always urging her to improve the other. The well-rounded liberal arts education she received was visible to her every day on campus, and she expresses that it prepared her for any task that may lay before her.

Franco Biondolilo

“My time at Marietta prepared me for my career in both the academic and social applications of my education. The broad set of courses I spent time in at Marietta provided me with an increased desire to ask the ‘why’ or ‘how’ that leads to learning.”

-Franco Biondilillo ’18, Corporate Information Technology Business Analyst

Marietta College’s broad set of courses and education requirements as a liberal arts school is invaluable when it comes to the workforce, as Frank Biondolillo can testify. He says that the range of knowledge he gained from a variety of classes improved his professional skills, conversational skills and his ability to not just know a topic, but to also look deeper into it. These skills greatly prepared him for his current position at Eaton Corporation’s U.S. Headquarters, in which he has accomplished multiple feats.

As a Corporate Information Technology Business Analyst, he has coordinated a global team of testers for over 400 test scripts, and has also been responsible for identifying application ownership, defining strategy and escalating project requests to address 170+ Windows servers running business applications. This position has given him in-depth experience with business processes involving financial close, consolidation and disclosure reporting. Frank will soon be transferring to a new position with the IT innovation team in regards to how Robotic Process Automation, Augmented Reality, Chatbots, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence can be applied to real-world business situations.
