Bridge your career from military to teaching
Marietta College is proud to offer Military Bridges to Careers — a pathway for active-duty service members, veterans, and their spouses to pursue our fully online, post-baccalaureate Bridges to Teaching program. Originally created to help address the critical teacher shortage in Ohio and across the nation, the program offers a convenient route for those who have a bachelor' degree to earn teaching licensure. Upon completion, graduates will be licensed to teach in the state of Ohio—with credentials that are transferable to most other states across the U.S.
Thanks to a generous $150,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce, limited full-tuition scholarships are available for eligible military and veteran students admitted to the program who intend to teach in Ohio.
The program takes an individual approach to bridging careers, with strong faculty mentorship from beginning to end. Program flexibility means each student’s path is specific to their past education and current circumstances. Required courses build on content completed during the bachelor’s degree. All courses are delivered online and asynchronously, so students can view course content on their own schedule during the semester the course is offered.
The flexibility of time and place is ideal for active-duty service members. Veterans of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, members of the National Guard or Reserves and the spouses of individuals from any of these areas are also eligible for the scholarships if they meet admission requirements.
