Melissa Hill Grande is a freelance director and educator whose teaching experience includes more than a decade at Marietta College (1994-2007, and 2017-present), and five years as an adjunct at Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pennsylvania). She has taught courses in Directing, Costuming, Script Analysis, Introduction to Theatre, Acting, Irish Drama, Documentary Drama, American Drama, and Contemporary Drama.
Grande served as the Associate Artistic Director and Director of Marketing for the internationally-celebrated Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre (PICT) under founding Artistic Director Andrew S. Paul. She was Founding Artistic Director for Phase 3 Productions. Directing credits include such productions as Beckett’s Come and Go (“Six A Breast: The Absurd Life of Women”) and Rockaby (“Beckett and Beyond”) (Corningworks); Garden (part of the two-play event House and Garden) and J.M. Synge’s When the Moon has Set (PICT); The Giver and Animal Farm (Prime Stage Theatre); By the Bog of Cats (Centenary College); Well and The Other Place (Off the Wall/Carnegie Stage); Pan: The True Story of Peter Pan (Gilbert Theater); The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and Eurydice (Westminster College); Big Love and Medea (Seton Hill University).
