The Office of Civic Engagement (OCE) focuses on connecting students, staff and faculty with meaningful community involvement. We do this through organizing opportunities for students to perform community service by coordinating Make a Difference Day, Community Service Day, Hunger and Homelessness Week and Alternative Breaks. The OCE also works with faculty to expand service-learning throughout departmental curricula, so students can engage in critical academic inquiry about the social justice issues they engage with during their service.

The Office of Civic Engagement aims to empower students to be active leaders in their communities, promote critical thinking about social justice issues, and develop citizens committed to a lifetime of public service. The Office of Civic Engagement accomplishes this by providing students with opportunities to engage in curricular and co-curricular service that build sustainable, positive relationships with community partners while reflecting on the social justice issues that affect communities on a local, national and global level.
