Day of Giving 2021

Every Founders Day – February 14 – Pioneers around the world come together to share their love with their alma mater during our annual Day of Giving. This year will be our biggest celebration yet, with the event extending until 18:35 (6:35 p.m. Eastern) on February 15.

An unprecedented year calls for an unprecedented celebration, so we're bringing together Pioneers for a full 42 hours in 2021 as we share  #Luv4MC during our fifth annual Day of Giving. Save the date, and prepare for a two-day celebration of the impact your love has on today's Pioneers. When you make a gift of just $5 or more, you'll be eligible to compete for prizes while helping to keep the college you love thriving.

You can also join us for some special (and free) Day of Giving events:

Last year more than one thousand Pioneers raised over $192,000 in just 24 hours, thanks in no small part to over 100 Advocates who helped spread the word. If you want to join the team this year and help us reach our goal of 1,415 donors, contact Senior Director of Annual Giving Kathryn Gloor at kathryn.gloor@marietta.edu or 740-376-4620 to learn more about this fun (and easy) volunteer opportunity.

Thank you to the 1,210 Pioneers who showed their love for Marietta College by making a gift during last year's annual Day of Giving! Even though the special day is over, you can relive some of the excitement by visiting the 2020 Day of Giving web page, watching the videos, and seeing where your class or Greek chapter finished on the leaderboard. With your support, we'll share even more love in 2021!

Day of Giving F.A.Q.

What is the Day of Giving?

Our Day of Giving is an online celebration and fundraising event. Alumni, friends, staff, faculty and even students come together to make a gift of $5 or more in support of Marietta College.

When can I give?

Day of Giving starts at 12:01 the morning of Sunday, February 14, and ends at 18:35 (that's 6:35 p.m.) on Monday, February 15. Go to marietta.edu/day-of-giving during that time for a link to the live campaign page to make your gift and follow our progress.

What is our goal?

We set a one-day participation record in 2020, and we hope to do even better this year, with a goal of 1,415 donors.

Are Day of Giving contributions tax-deductible?

Yes! When you make a gift during Day of Giving, you will receive an email confirmation that serves as your receipt for tax purposes.

Where do contributions go?

Day of Giving contributions go to The Marietta Fund, which allows the College to address areas of greatest need. This can include providing additional student aid, updating technology for classrooms, renovating athletic facilities, underwriting faculty salaries, and more. You can direct your gift to the Pioneer Club to support our student-athletes, or Student Aid to provide financial assistance to students in need. You can even restrict your gift to the team or program you love the most by choosing "other" as your designation and indicating where you would like your contribution to go.

Why should I participate?

When Pioneers pool their resources, we can blaze new trails together. By giving back to the College, you are making a profound difference in the lives of today’s Pioneers. Your gift – of any amount – helps provide the resources students need to realize their dreams, keep our campus safe, and shows the entire community the love you have for MC.

Are there other ways I can get involved?

Absolutely! Do you have a few hours and access to a phone or computer? You can volunteer as a Day of Giving Advocate, reaching out to friends and classmates to encourage them to participate. Want to leverage your own gift to encourage others? You can set up a personal challenge to match gifts from your classmates, Greek brothers or sisters, or other list that you provide. You can even help build awareness leading up to the day by sharing what you love most about Marietta by using the hashtag #Luv4MC.

Do you have other ideas you’d like to share? Contact Kathryn Gloor, senior director of annual giving, at kathryn.gloor@marietta.edu or by calling 740.376.4620.
